The conference will take place in the beautiful and charming mountain village of Andermatt, Switzerland (map). The town of Andermatt is situated just 30 kilometers from Lake Lucerne in the Ursern valley of the canton Uri at ca. 1,400 meters above sea level, right in the center of the Swiss Alps with stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges. In the summer, the region is known for offering many outdoor activities (andermatt.ch), including rides in the mountain railway (e.g. the Glacier Express) or hikes along trails for all levels that will lead you through the beautiful landscape and allow you to explore the Alpine nature with its waterfalls, mountain lakes, and deep gorges.
The conference venue is the Radisson Blu Hotel Reussen (hotel website) in Andermatt, which can be conveniently reached by public transport. From any of the international Swiss airports (Zurich, Geneva, Basel) you can take public transport offered by the national railway company of Switzerland (sbb.ch) to get to Andermatt. Another option is to fly into Milan in Italy (Milan Malpense) and travel to Andermatt from there. In all cases, the schedule and available options for the trains and buses can be found at www.sbb.ch.
